Well, it’s that time of year again. We’re working on our Spring 2016 Food drive campaigns and we thought it would be great to ask you to join in on the great Mitzvah. There are Jewish families in South Florida that need our help and we’re grateful that the community has joined in assisting in poverty alleviation.
We’ve been working with some great schools in the South Florida area to teach our young generations the importance of giving Tzedaka.
Last year we initiated a School Food Drive program aimed at teaching young students the importance of Chesed and Tzedaka through donating specific items needed for upcoming food drives.
Campaigns ranged from “Spaghetti Now” where we asked students to donate spaghetti and sauce, to “Tunapalooza” where tuna cans and jars of mayo were the main ingredients. The results were ever-so enlightening. The students went so far as to wanting to donate their own lunch at school! (If that’s not a real Neshama, we don’t know what is.)
Masoret Yehudit, Brauser Maimonides, Ohr Yehezkel and Sha’arei Bina are a few of the great schools we’ve teamed up with. We’ll be running multiple drives in different schools (exact schedule TBA soon) and hope you’ll share with us in the Mitzvah of Tzedaka by teaching your children the importance of Charity and assisting them in participating in this great activity at their school. Students are asked to bring in items to their class bin by specified dates.
